It gives me great pleasure, as Principal of St. Mary’s N.S. Drung to welcome you to our new school website. This website has been prepared in order to become a valuable source of school news, timely information and celebration for our whole school community. It is also our hope that it will offer visitors a genuine insight into the daily life, spirit, and values that make our school such a special place to learn and grow.

St. Marys NS is nestled in the heart of Cavan’s countryside in the village of Drung; which is in the diocese of Kilmore. With 31 pupils across two classrooms, we are fortunate to maintain a close knit, family orientated atmosphere where strong relationships are formed across our entire school community.

We are of Catholic Ethos, our values of respect, kindness, inclusion and care are permeated throughout our entire school day.

We at St. Marys N.S. are very proud of our rich tradition of excellence in teaching and learning, complemented by active participation in sport, music, and creative activities that enrich our childrens educational experience.

Along with the Board of Management, we take great pride in providing a safe and secure learning environment for all children of varying abilities and needs. This extends on to our afterschool club. 

Our entire staff is committed to establishing and maintaining a positive school environment that allows our pupils to grow spiritually, intellectually, emotionally and socially in a holistic manner.
